Death?

There is no such thing my friends! There is only life in all its varied splendor. And this applies to all units of life, no matter their point upon the evolutionary ladder. There is no group of people or unit of life within any kingdom of nature with a monopoly on eternal life. All claims of that nature are baseless and founded on selfishness and/or misunderstanding. Yes, the physical form eventually becomes unable to support our life force at some point during our sojourn on this plane and dies. But the indwelling life within that form is released. It doesn't die. You, that indwelling life lives on. The fact of the matter is, we are more dead now than we ever will be. Does that statement surprise you?

Death is, perhaps, one of the greatest illusions surrounding mankind. Fear of the unknown, lack of scientific proof, and the pain of involuntary change all add their quota to that surrounding fog. But that is all it is...fog. When the veil is lifted all that remains is ever changing and ever evolving life. There is nothing else! Think of it...always fresh beginnings and new starts. Always another chance to do better...to move forward into ever expanding areas of livingness. The true definition of death should be something along the lines of: entry into a new livingness and greater expression of life.

There is no loss of identity after death even though separation has occurred from the dense physical form. And there certainly isn't an end to your thoughts and the wisdom of experience gained during a given life. As our attitude changes toward the subject of death, as it most assuredly will, so will the fear and uncertainty that surrounds it.

Each night when you go to sleep you die to this plane. When you leave your physical form upon the 'death' of that form you simply leave this plane for a longer period of time. You are alive and active elsewhere...until you again choose to take another dense physical form and live upon this plane once more. The erroneous teachings of a Heaven and Hell has hindered humanity from learning the true nature of death. There is no Hell. Life on this plane of experience is the only Hell you will ever know. Descent into a dense physical form, with all its limitations, is death and Hell to the spiritual nature of man. Dying from this dense world is liberation and entrance into greater life. As the individual progresses in life experience in one form after another his/her attitude will change and the prospect of death will no longer hold any fear...and then he/she can truly begin to live.

The following excerpts are from books by Alice A. Bailey:

Death, if we could but realize it, is one of our most practiced activities. We have died many times and shall die again and again. Death is essentially a matter of consciousness. We are conscious one moment on the physical plane, and a moment later we have withdrawn onto another plane and are actively conscious there. Just as long as our consciousness is identified with the form aspect, death will hold for us its ancient terror. Just as soon as we know our selves to be souls, and find that we are capable of focusing our consciousness or sense of awareness in any form or on any plane at will, or in any direction within the form of God, we shall no longer know death.

Ponder therefore, upon this doctrine of abstraction. It covers all life processes and will convey to you the eternally lovely secret of Death which is entrance into life.

- A Treatise on the Seven Rays, Vol. V.

"Have perseverance as one who doth for evermore endure.  Thy shadows live and vanish; that which in thee shall live forever, that which in thee knows, for it is knowledge, is not of fleeting life; it is the man that was, that is, and will be, for whom the hour shall never strike."
