Humanity: facing the tests (May 24, 2004) Humanity today is facing a major crisis. This crisis has been brought about by man's desire for that which is material. Beliefs, values, and motives are being given the focus of attention. And it might be added...in not a gentle way - it is right in our face, every hour of every day. As hard as it is to deal with these present world difficulties it is nonetheless a lesson that humanity has to conquer and overcome if it is to proceed on a path toward peace and right human relations. How will humanity respond? That is the question. Humanity is waking up. We have made huge strides toward that which is right and true. But the process is difficult and painful. Just as painful as the individual experience when undergoing a similar expansion of consciousness...for that is what humanity is facing today - an expansion of consciousness as a group. The new and desired vision is for an enlightened humanity to gain the wisdom of knowing that they are truly ONE family - ONE functioning whole within our Planetary Life. Separatist thoughts and actions must be replaced by those of cooperative goodwill. Our crisis is reaching it's peak. We are reminded of the following quote: "Only in the stress of circumstances can the full power of the soul be evoked. Such is the law." - Alice A. Bailey Well my fellow struggler, the 'stress of circumstance' is upon us! Again, the question is - how will we respond? Many of us are anticipating and expecting a new revelatory experience in the near future...in fact, there are many who expected it much sooner. However, it would be unreasonable to expect any major revelation prior to humanity reaching the necessary level of preparation. That level of readiness can only be achieved through demonstrated action - through real international cooperation and international goodwill. Let us focus our discussion on three major areas of society: Politics These three major areas are under tremendous impress at the present time. As the new revelation approaches closer to manifestation in this world the energy impacting our lives becomes ever more intense. Response to this intensity can be of a positive or a negative nature. Cleavages are created in many diverse areas. These three topics in their totality constitute the main emphasis of every individual's daily life - and it can be said his most emotional points of focus. Volumes can and are being written on each of these topics so we will only highlight certain points and leave it to the reader to pursue their thoughts. POLITICS With communications the way they are in the modern world we are able to hear about the actions or reactions of world leaders ( please read page on world leaders ) and their regimes within minutes. We have to include judicial and law making systems under this category as well. Let's use a few words and phrases to bring some topics to mind rather than go into each topic (in no particular order). war Again these are just some topics. The list can go on and on. The solution to each and every one lies in the two words - International Cooperation. It is not the intention of this article, but each topic can be dissected and many diverse viewpoints can be presented on how to solve them...but any serious solution will still come down to a joint effort by a world community - nothing short of that can be effective in arriving at a real resolution. For no nation alone can resolve conflicts that affect humanity as a whole. The question arises - does the death of an innocent child in war torn Iraq, or a child dying with Aids in Africa, or a child starving to death in some other part of our world affect humanity as a whole? Without question! That child is one of our own. They are part of our family and we are responsible for them. How can humanity allow these things to continue to take place in this modern age? There are more than enough resources in the world to attend to all of these problems - if they are approached from a joint international effort. ( We wish to note there is much good going on in the world by many groups in many worthwhile efforts - if their hands weren't tied politically, religiously, or financially - and an international spirit of cooperation and sharing was the rule, these groups could do incredible things in a short period of time to address many issues). At the present time the only world body that is in a position to resolve these issues is the United Nations. Now we are talking political! Manipulation, abuse, exercise of the veto, withholding financial support are just some of the issues this world body must deal with...as a group! Support MUST be given to the United Nations from all governments and individuals as well. People are waking up. Polls indicate they are tired of separatist action and uncooperative national directions. Immediate future elections, changes in various governments, leadership, and lawmaker positions around the world will indicate to all of us how we are answering the question - How will humanity respond? The combined will of the people will respond. Will that response be directed toward international cooperation or a continuation of more of the same? RELIGION Here we enter an emotionally charged topic. Why is it the major religions in the world, with all their money and power, have not been able to bring about a much greater level of peace in the world - their numbers include most of the world's population. ( Please read page on the New World Religion. ) Lets throw out a few words and phrases. Hatred We could also throw in topics like the Israeli - Palestinian conflict. While many of the issues dominating that conflict do indeed have their roots in religion it is to be remembered that Israel is considered a state and not a religion. The United Nations disapproved of the taking of Palestinian lands back in the late 1940's. The argument for taking Palestinian land was that it used to be theirs thousands of years ago. That being the case then it should be acceptable that the American Indian re-take the state of Arizona...after all it used to be theirs! Such arguments only serve to fuel emotional fires. Based on the time that has passed and the present circumstances the only solution to this problem is to create a new Palestinian state. Palestinians have just as much right to be treated as equal citizens in this world. But that isn't going to happen until the United States steps down it's support of Israel and throws it's weight behind the United Nations. Once again it is going to take an International organization of world governments to resolve the issue. Christ said "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold..." - Christians are not the only custodians or beneficiaries of the love of Christ. Christians are not 'the elect' just as the Jews are not 'the chosen'. Every man, woman, and child within the human family can be called 'the elect' and 'the chosen'. These separatist ideas breed hatred and fuel antagonisms around the world. Only through International Cooperation of the major religions can benefit be passed to humanity and any particular religious membership. Only through active goodwill efforts can the major religions, with their vast financial access, help to alleviate the misery of millions. There is going to be a gathering of World's Religions in Barcelona, Spain in July of this year - the Parliament of World Religions ( for more information please visit the web site - www.cpwr.org ). One of the main purposes of this gathering is to provide a better understanding of one religion toward that of another. International Cooperation. They are expecting a few thousand people to attend. Think about that...a few thousand people. The question comes to mind - why aren't they expecting tens of thousands of people. After all, the Christian faiths alone have many hundreds of millions of members. See the problem? International Cooperation is not going to happen without international response and action! It will be interesting to see more information as to the breakdown of attendance. It's up to us...the opportunities are staring us in the face! FINANCIAL Money. How it is used, how it is obtained, and the motivation for seeking it tells us a lot about our society. Until recently the focus of attention regarding money has been on the individual - his needs and desires. That focus is changing as must be the case to that of the group. Let's look at some words and phrases. Corporate
greed Because of our misuse of money for material gain instead of spiritual purpose humanity has created a massive problem for itself. A human being does not need that much to exist comfortably in this world. However, the basics of food, shelter, and clothing, are denied many around the globe. What does that tell us - that we don't care about other members of our family? Or that we can't afford to take care of them? Or perhaps we are channeling our financial resources in the wrong direction? Just as in the past the individual was the focus of gaining material riches, now that focus has shifted to the group. Look at corporate greed. It's not even subtle! Everywhere you turn there is an attempt to get more for less. Corporations are composed of people...and many are staying up late in order to come up with a gimmick, some trickery, or outright deception for the sole purpose of greater material gain. Until the individuals composing these groups, stand up for the greater good of humanity the financial future of the world looks bleak indeed. Again it is going to take an international effort of cooperation to resolve these problems. An attitude of sharing, and not competition, must rule our financial markets in the future. Money must be channeling into those areas beneficial to humanity and not those that hinder growth. ( Please read the page on money. )
